Is oem Y pipe gasket better than aftermarket?

I still have a little leak at the y pipe flange and the converter flamge as well . Do you think I should take them down , give all the flanges a good clean up and use the Toyota gaskets ???? instead. the price difference among OEM and after market gasket are like 7 canadian dollars.........

waht gaskets are you using now. have you replaced them with non OE parts and you are getting the leak. fi so I would say go back to the OE ones. But that is jsut my opinoin.

I am using gasket from bosal now. The gasket seats in the flange connecting exhaust manifold to Y pipe.

I would say that you may as well use the toyota gasket....it's only $5, though I guess it may add up...

and yes, give the flange a good cleaning, or better yet, give it a light grinding and then exhaust cement on the gasket

also, to make sure, don't reuse any gasket after tightening it, since that spreads hte metal and can crack the silicone, or whatever that plastic part is on the gasket...
