Which would you buy?

Ok, it's time to replace my summer tires. I Was running on yokohama es 100's and thought they were good to excellent but I'm always looking for something new and better. I've been intrigued by the BF Goodrich g-Force KDW2's and found some Avon's (550's I think) on Tire Rack that don't look as cool but fits my needs. Treadwear and wet traction are keys for me living here in wonderful Washington State so let me hear it. I searched and saw someone had run those KDW's before and raved about them but I know little about the Avon's. I'm looking to spend about $450 on tires so what do you guys have to say?

The second part of this question is about tires size/rubbing issues. I've been running 215/45/17 and have been happy, no rubbing issues at all. This does make my speedo about 4-5 mph off though. 225/45/17 would be closer to the right size and are actuallly cheaper at Tire Rack. Would I be able to get away with this size? BTW, current rim is either a 40 or 42 offset.

Thanks for all the help.

the bf goodrich kdw 2's are a great tire....my friend that owns a 2004 mazdaspeed miata has them on his car and hes been thru about 3 or 4 track events and alot of twisty roads....they lasted pretty long and the grip is very insane according to him...but the noise level is much more than the toyo proxies

i myself when i get my wheels and change out my tires, will probably go with the kdw-2's as well, knowing how well they have performed on his car...
