Would a camry motor fit a sienna without any mods?

Anyone know witch engines fit a 98 siennas? would the 2mzfe camry japan engine fit? would the 92-96 camry v6 engines fit? 2002-2005 v6 camry engines. I just bought a sludge up sienna for a good price and would like to buy a sludge free engine. any inputs would be great. thanx

I dont think so. Imo evey time you do a motor swap into a diffrent car there is allways something that you may need.

i'd stick with what was origionally in the '98 Sienna. It will be the most painless and hassle free option of any. (Granted you get a decent engine)

Sludge

If it is true that you bought a Sienna with sludge than you can have the motor replaced under an extended 8 year warranty through Toyota. You said you have a 98 so you are covered until 2006. If I just saved you a boatload let me know and I'll give you my paypal address. Jon. P.s. if need be I can fax you a copy of a letter regarding this I have received from Toyota.

thanxs for all the reply, I'm just seeing what my options are before i go out and buy a engine. i would prefer a non sludge engine (1mz) from 92-96. anybody heard about the 2mz i wonder if they are the same blocks as in the 1mz (97-01 camry). and regarding the warranty i've tried that, as soon as i brought up sludge and my sienna they turn on the defensive end and tried to be asses... long story.

sorry to disapoint you. but they dont replace the motor. theyre supposed to take off the heads, replace the valve seals, clean out the sludge, replace the oil pan pickup, replace the oil pump, pcv and valve covers.

Uh... I'm pretty sure that its the 4cyl Camry and the 4cyl Rav4 that are on the same platform, and the v6 Camry and the RX330 are on the same platform.

Camry shares platform and engines with the Highlander and RX330, not the Rav4.

It never shared platform with Previa or Toyota Van because that one is mid engine.

The Camry and Rav are not on the same platform (IIRC). But the highlander, Sienna, Camry, Avalon and ES are on the same platform

Uh... I was under the impression that the 4cyl Rav had a 2AZ engine.

RAV4 does have a 2AZ-FE. But just because it has the same engine, does not mean it shares the platform. ie 90-93 Celica GT and SW20s had 5SFE but they did not share platform with Camry 92-01.

The S/C Previa used the same engine as the mr2, hardly the same platform.

^??? the previa had a 4agze? you sure about that....?

but on topic...

if you get a 1mz from a gen4 camry, it should be almost a direct drop-in, with perhaps little differences....the air intake and all that for sure.,...but beyond that, I'm sure it won't take much work
