My dad has volunteered to buy me new struts for my 96 Camry on the conditions that I do well on the psat next week. I have two questions. One, which springs should I get? I have seen the GR-2s, some Bilstien touring shocks, and the Tokicos. Also, should I get new springs too? I am looking for better handling, the car as is is a dog handling wise, way too much body roll, and bounces all over the place when going over speedbumps etc. (The bumper hits the sidewalk if I go over even at moderate speeds, and I can feel the car moving when I bounce my knee in traffic). Also, what are some good places to buy shocks?
you may as well do both springs and struts at the same time, save yourself time and money if you're not doing it yourself, and time if you're doing it yourself
as well, if you want a tight ride, then you want to do both
if you want a more akin to stock ride, get the gr2s, otherwise, go with something else
and ebay since you're in the states....you can't beat those prices

stiffer struts will make the most notosible difference (this is on top as your current oens are probably shot, so getting a rear sway bar with shot struts is kinda pointless... we gotta fix the primary part of the rold holding ability first).
then a rear sway bar
then stiffer springs.
tyres play a major roll as well, in terms of grip, comfort and control. always buy the tyres that are JUST OUT of your budget... dont drink or smoke for a week or month to get them, or something.

I don't drink or smoke, and my tires are practically brand new. Toyos. They aren't the high performance model, but they aren't the really cheap ones either. So would getting some springs be worth it? I want to have a tight ride, but not too harsh. How bad would you think my springs are? The struts are definitely shot, beyond a doubt. The car will hit the sidwalk when going out of our driveway, even if I don't go even very fast at all. It will hit when going up into the driveway too.
