Peel out after cleaning throttle body?

Last friday night I finally got around to cleaning out my throttle body with some carbourator/choke/throttle body cleaner. I sprayed the whole can into the throttle body, in all directions as my shop teacher told me to do. After cranking it for some time, it finally started, and then ran rather smellily (Is that a word?) for a while, after which it settled into a nice smooth idle. I took it out for a test drive, and when I floored it from a stop I peeled out, I mean a solid peel out, not just a chirp. It wasn't super long, but it surprised me. I have duplicated the peel out since, so it wasn't just the cleaner boosting power or something. Could this have this drastic of an effect? It seems to respond to throttle input much sooner now.

Thanks,
Nathan

Interesting, I'll have to dump a whole can into my tb. I cleaned mine, but I sure as hell didn't use a whole can. I'll do that tomorrow.

How did you clean it? Did you remove the TB from the car and wash it? or did you just spray into the intake? I did this with mine a while back and it didnt make that much difference...maybe i didnt clean it properly!!

sounds like it's quite possible....don't know if possible if you have a 4banger auto tho....

but theoretically, if you clean your throttlebody and it was diryty before, your throttle response will be quicker, and to do a good burnout, it's really all about breaking traction....after that, a lot of it's in your tires

Cleaning your throttle body should make a huge difference in your fuel economy an motor power. I know it did with my Camry.

so how would you clean a tb? do you take it out of the engine compartment and break it down? or do you spray it with that cleaning agent? I have never cleaned the tb before so any input will help.

clean it with the spray. It does the best job and is also the easyst option.

All you need to do is disconnect the intake tube from the tb and spray the inside up real good. Oh, and open the butterfly valve up to get behind it. The car will be hard to start, but after the cleaner has gone through the system, you won't be dissapointed by the results.

and after you've put everything back you'll notice some white smokes from your exhaust, THATS NORMAL. so drive it for 5-10mins and in couple of days the smoke will be gone and enjoy with the Extra HP!!
