Its Back again, Seafoam discovery.

Yeah, I just now discovered the Seafoam rave that happened a few months back and I am plannning on doing my Seafoam cleaning. Damn, I searched and read like every thread on it.

I'm paranoid though, through reading so many threads on it. I just wanna know if my whole process is correct.

I gotta 98' Camry I4 59,000 miles. It needs an OIL change now since its been 6,000 miles since the last . I know, I delayed.

I plan on Seafoaming it right after the Oil change since I read that Toysrme mentioned the longer seafoam stays in the crankcase, the longer it'll do its job.

From what Learned this his how to do it. Please correct anysteps that are incorrect, or left out.

1) Warm up car.

2) After warm up, in a well ventilated area (outside), detach brakebooster line and put a funnel on it.

3) Not too slowly but at a medium pace pour it (1/3 of can--> 5 oz.) (rather than let it being sucked) into the funnel

4) keep the car at around 2,000 rpms not letting it stall.

5) after the last drop is gone, IMMDDIATELY turn off engine.

6) Wait 5- 10 minutes (reconnect the brake booster line)

7) restart car and smoke out .

as far as crankcase pour in 1/3 pint, turn on car and rev till about 3K rpms and turn off for about 10 minute.

Gast tank -- pour in 3/4 toa full can of Seafoam on empty tank and top off and drive around a few miles.

Soooo guys,

Is the procedure right? Please correct any misconceptions.

yup, that's pretty much it....
and there's no need to worry....there are instructions on the back of the can

but here's an added advantage that I found out from using seafoam...you can find out where all your exhaust leaks are.....

I ran seafoam in my car to tune it up before emissions testing- lots of smoke from the back....then smoke started coming from under my hood?!?!?!
I looked around and realized that I had a gasket leak from where the y-pipe meets the front exhaust manifold

The directions on the back of the can are pretty vague...I never put it in my brake booster line because I wasn't sure how to do it. So essentially, if you're going to do it like that, you need to have another person to rev the car to keep it from stalling, right?

exhaust leak finding is one of the best things for that lol....

i did it with an insane amount of carby cleaner becuase we hav eno seafom.. although it only lasts for about 5-10 seconds AT MOST, its good to see if ya got a leak

my rear manifold is cracked, and my rear y pipe to manifold connection keep sworking itself loose.

Ahh right, I forgot about that. Dummy me. Thanks though, that means I can try it tomorrow...although, I don't think it'd be a good idea to do it where I am (an apartment complex right by a police station).

Haha. We're not allowed to grill here anyway, except by the pool. Maybe I'll just drive out to my dad's place in the country and do it.
