3rd Generation power steering fluid change gen3

I was doing things according to the thread that was posted for swapping the power steering fluid out of a gen5. the hoses listed in that thread were 3/8 where as mine are 5/8. I stupidly assumed that the connections would the same as the gen 5 post. in other words, no fluid got replaced and I'm pretty sure there is air in the system. can anybody point me in the right direction as to what hose goes where? there are two 5/8 connections to the power steering resevoir facing the timing belt, there are also two 3/8 connections that go to the fan clutch. I hosed and capped the right 5/8 coming out of the fluid resevoir(if your facing the timing belt from pass side) and tapped the steering hose leading to the resevoir and led it to a bucket. after turning the steering wheel, there is no fluid coming out. I just did a valve adjustment and wanted to drive it out tonight. boo hoo! help me please.
