wheel shaking

when i was driving down the freeway yesterday, after i had put on a spare tire on my 1992 toyota camry le, i began to have a very bad shaking in my car. it got so bad that i could barely control the car on the regular street. the steering wheel was shaking very badly. i checked the spare tire and everything was put on the way it needed to be and nothing was visibly wrong. Anyone know what could be wrong, and is it an easy fix?

A vibration can be difficult to pin point but the fact that you just put the spare on should be helpful. The easiest thing may be to have your original tire repaired/replaced and have the temporary tire checked in the process. The link below is a chart to help work through the vibration if no problems with the spare can be identified. vibration chart

Thanks Kyle. I printed your chart and will go outside and check those suggestions.

Did you put the spare on one of the back positions?

Do you have alloy wheels, and used the alloy wheel lugnuts on the steel spare wheel?

*FYI: Beer was involved in this post, if they make no sense*

I will get tires balanced and if that doesn't work... I already had an alignment.

Well what caused my car to shake was a bent rim. SO now i have to buy a new stock steelie .. or go with some aftermarket rims.
