VW Steel wheels on AE92?

I just noticed this forum, and I figure its easier to ask this here, than to jack up my cars and try this. I am wondering if the VW steel wheels from my 1993 VW Fox will fit my 1991 Corolla. I'm taking a trip up No'th this weekend (northern ME and NH), and with reports of possible snow I think it will be too cold for my Kumho SPTs and R700s, but I don’t want to destroy my blizzaks driving on frozen dirt roads if there is no snow. I'm not too concerned with matching the tire diameter exactly (my terra-trip will take care of any difference in the speedometer), as long as the bolt pattern and center bore are the same, and the offset wont cause problems.

Thank you to Kyle and everyone else at Tire Rack.

PS. when will you start carrying rally tires again?

It looks that the offset of the two factory wheels would have been within five mm of the other. The bolt pattern is the same but the center bore from VW(57) to Toyota (54) in this case would be off. I'm unsure of the status of rally tires at this time. Have a nice trip up north.

you can pick up some rings that will correct the bore difference for pretty cheap, not a bad solution for just one trip to save your good tires

Thanks for the tip Tommy. By the time you posted I was already in northern NH, so I wasn’t able to use it, but I will keep it in mind for the future. Would the rings be something I could pick up locally, or would I need to order them?

I put the Blizzaks in the back of the car, figuring I would change the tires once I was farther north, but I ended up leaving my SPTs on all weekend. I took it easy coming back through Franconia Notch in blowing snow just in case, but the tires never wiggled. I wouldn’t want to be driving on them if snow started accumulating on the road, but it is still very impressive for a summer tire.
