4th Generation Struts for 4gen Celica

Kyle,
I just bought a 1986 Celica GT-S in need of new struts and I thought I'd get some springs while I was at it. I plan on getting the Eibach springs, I've used them in the past and loved them, but am surprised that my only choice for struts is KYB GR2 (a nice stock replacement but not so good for lower, stiffer springs) and Konis, overkill for a street car. What gives, doesn't anyone else make replacement struts for these cars?

Thanks for the info. I wondered about this, most docs say the 5th gen is mostly an update of the 4th which often means the parts interchange.

There are lots of original equipment replacements out there but the only performance one I am familiar with is the Koni. Sorry I don't have a better answer...

4th Generation

Thanks, Kyle. Guess I'm resigned to spending half the car's value in shocks. In my 20+ years of racing Japanese cars I've never seen such a dearth of product for a popular car. Funny....
