Gen6 Considerng Upgrade from 225/45/18

I own a 2007 Camry SE V6 with the 18" TRD rims. If I am correct, they measure 18x7.5. They come stock with 225/45/18 and for a future upgrade I was considering upgrade to 235/40/18 or 235/45/18. I simply wanted a big more road grip and a larger footprint for the car. What would you advise?

We usually stay with the 225 45 18 so I'm unsure of clearance. Give me a call if you want to discuss the sizes or if there is a certain tire you are interested in. Be sure to look at tires that are xl rated or reinforced in any of the three sizes to keep load capacity where it needs to be.

Well... summer is approaching and I am thinking of looking into some options.

I am considering the Toyo Proxes 4 in 245/45/ZR18 REINFORCED.
According to the tire calculator they will fit on a 7.5" wheel width.

Is this true? Are there any consequences to a 245 wheel on a 7.5" width.

245 should fit on a 7.5 wheel, the only problem i see is you might have some rubbing issues, i'm not 100% sure... i would probably just stick with the 225 or 235 at most and call it a day.. not much of speedo error going from 225 to 245 (65 speedo reads 66.XX) it would produce more drag to your engine and steering components though

Yeah, I am doing some research and making sure. There are a few TN members running 245's on their 07 Camrys. It is usually dependent on wheel offset. Those with low offsets have been getting some rubbing issues. TRD wheels have an offset of 45mm. I think I will just stick with the 225/45/18.
