New Akebono Pads

Hey

Has anyone used or heard reviews for the new Akebono Ceramic pads that are higher performance?

I was thinking about getting these for my next pair of pads but i don't know if just looking at them can help me reason myself into buying the more expensive pair vs. the normal akebono proacts that i typically buy.

thanks for any and all input from Kyle and of course all other awesome members!

Bit of car info may help too.
mine has 4 brembo cross drilled direct oem replacement size rotors with SS Braided lines (G-Stop) from tire rack, and i use sythetic brake fluid.
I have very very good stopping power w/minimal fade as of now, but i do notice that the akebono's loose their cold temp braking abilities as i push them harder and harder. I've probably glazed them and need to sand off some glaze, but maybe these more expensive ones will reduce glazing overall.

The Street Performance pads don't quite have the braking performance of a Hawk HPS, but better than a ceramic pad. They could be grouped between OE and the HPS. They'll have less dust and noise than the Hawk but not quite the same initial bite. Hope this helps. Let me know if you want to try a set.

Thank you kyle.

From your statement you're saying the higher performance hawk pads, not the hawk ceramics right?

I assume most ceramic pads in general perform similarly.
I really hate brake dust so in the future i'd probably stick with ceramics, but if there are high performance ceramics for a somewhat reasonable cost, i'd certainly jump on them.

We'll keep in touch.

Correct, better than average ceramic and oe pads in regards to performance. Not the level of bite you would see out of a performance pad such as the Hawk HPS. Better performance without a dramatic change in noise or dust.
