Question Warped rotor shudder to 60-70mph shudder...?

Hi all, I own an '01 Highlander V6 w/ ~72k miles.

On long trips, I noticed that the brakes would shudder so I replaced the front rotors and pads (come to find out that the inner right front rotor was scored quite badly). Now there's a shudder whenever I'm going ~60-70 mph...??? I did not switch the tires from left to right and vice versa and I seriously doubt the balance went out just from taking them off and laying them on the ground. The tires are Michelin XC LT4 225/70R16 and are in excellent condition w/ plenty of tread left.

But yet it seems I either have a wheel balance or an alignment problem...that I didn't have before I changed the front brakes...any ideas?

Any insight would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Madmurr

Check the torque on the lugnuts, make sure they are done to specs. Not sure what it is on the Highlander, but on my Taco it 85 ft/lbs.

Thanks for the reply, I will take it into a shop to have that checked as I don't have a torque wrench! I'll post again after...

Swap out the spare with the front tires one at a time. Check for excess front bearing and tie rod play. Perhaps the new rotor(s) are out of balance. Suggest doing these items before an alignment.

Took it in, turns out I had the lugnuts WAY too tight, but that wasn't the fix. Went back today and had the front tires balanced, now all is good.

Thanks for the help!
Madmurr

Edit: BTW, my spare tire is one of those tiny things, not regular size.
Edit 2: The torque spec for an '01 Highlander is 76 ft/lbs (for those searching)
