As the title says, I just got some 18" trd wheels for my 07. I was looking at some tires. dont want to get crazy with the prices of some of them but i was looking that the kumho. Not bad i guess for $98 a tire. Anyone have experience with these. Should i get something better. Tread life is a major factor. I just do highway and city driving. I would say my driving style is not spirited. I have read some reviews on the kumho and its mixed. it seems like if your a take it easy driver you could get some good mileage out of them. Any good websites to compare prices? tirerack seems to have some competitive pricing. thanks for the help
yes i have heard of those. They seem to be alright.
Kumho is a good value tire brand, but they do offer higher end tires too, it all depends on what you want.
Just to let u know, 18inch tires usually dont offer very high treadwear, and if it rains a lot where you're at, you may want to consider all season tires instead of summer tires.
Honestly a good tire for 18inch rims should cost at least 100 dollars. Any less and i'd be hesitant to buy it (i am speaking of msrp not discounted etc.)
My family uses Yokohama which makes good tires at good prices. They are more up on the scale than kumho.
Actually sometimes all season tires are worse than summer tires in the rain because all season means that some dry and wet traction is compromised for snow traction.
You're best checking out some reviews. There are a lot of reviews on tirerack.com where the person only drove 10 miles and makes an evaluation - so watch out for those.

If looking for longer tread life, the all seasons would be the way to go. Touringcamry is right that the summer will offer the best wet and dry and they will also wear faster in trade.
Thanks guys for your help . Good info. I have some things to consider now. pros/cons of summer vs. all season. Looking at some all season tires now. But still considering the kumho. Tread life is a concern but not the single most definite reason to buy. I just dont want the tire to last only 10k. Not too concerned about snow. Dont get too much were here in jersey. but we do get a lot of rain. As of now leaning towards the kumho. Seems like there is a lot of positive feedback on them and it looks like you can get 20k+ out of them easily.
No experience with this tire. What is the width on the TRD's cause I was looking into tire options too. I am pretty sure it is 7.5" but I need a confirmation.
Have you looked into the Toyo Proxes 4?

Im pretty sure there 7.5. I looked into the toyo's. Seem like a nice tire not looking to spend 132+ each. The more and more i look at them, the cooper zeon a/s are looking good especially at $101 bucks a pop. I found a website that offers them at that price. I still have not ruled out the kumho spt. This sucks i hate buying tires.

I love my Toyo Proxes 4, great grip and very little road noise. Worth the money IMO
i belive cooper is used on the newer mini's, not same design though.
those should perform well. they have a similar design to michelin xxxxxx
good ratings 400 treadwear , AA trac.
I think i'm going to get the cooper zeon a/s. 400 treadwear all season etc.... can get them $404 shipped to my door step. They look like a pretty good tire. Only 1 way to find out. Probably order them tonight. thanks again fellas for your help.
