Best tire for these specs?

I've got a '06 LE. I've been trying to figure out my best options.

I would like to go with a 18x8.5 with a 35mm offset. I'm curious what would be my best tire choice. Tirerack says that 225/45/18 will work. I'm just curious if that will rub. Thanks.

The 225 gets aggressive on the rear with 8" wide wheels and 35 mm offset. I have notes that the 8" may require rear fender modifications with the 225 tire so the 8.5 would likely be the same. Give me a call if you want to discuss the details.

Would a 225/40/18 be a better choice then? I'm new to all this...

The 225 40 18 would be shorter but I believe the width is the main issue. The 40 series also drops pretty low in regards to weight capacity. The wheel itself is pretty aggressive and will be pushing the tire towards the fender.

225 seems kinda thin for an 8.5. Why not go 235/40/18
