Need major help

my car currently has 16" 205/55/16 wheel/tires, bigger than the original 14" 195/70/14 that it should have. my problem is that...i need the necessary tools for a tire change. the original lug wrench is too thick at the tip so it doesn't fit inside the socket of the aftermarket rim to loosen the lug. I was informed that i could get a so called "thin-wall" wrench. Where and how do i obtain it? thankyou

Probably you can go to Sears and get a 1/2" drive breaker bar and a socket. It should work. See if you can convince the guy to let you take the socket outside to check if it fits. If not, buy the thing and return it if it doesn't work out and then get a breaker bar.

The socket you need is either 19mm or 21mm, I cannot remember which.

Something else you could try would be one of those 4-way x shaped lug nut tools.

Here is a link of some of the other products we offer......click on the tools section and you'll see some items that may be helpful. Some of the kits will come with several thin wall sockets. Let me know if I can help.

I ran across the same problem with some MBMotoring wheels.

I almost bought a thin wall socket online, but I was hesitant with the high price delivered.

I hit my local Sears looking for a thin wall, but none available. I did discover that one of their Craftsman deep spark plug sockets came in the correct size for my lugnuts, and it's walls were thinner then their regular sockets. I bought one of those and removed the rubber insert that holds the spark plug. Works perfectly, and was only around $5 I think I have used it for around four years for my seasonal changes.
