I have stock Camry SE rims with 215/55-17 tires. The wheels are 17x7. I want to move to a 50 or 45 series tire. What sizes would be a good fit for these wheels? Also, do you have any specific recommendations for a good all season tire? Thank you.

You would be ok with a 225 50...here are some top picks I would look at and test comparisons. Let me know if I can help.

Kyle-

I have the same set-up: on my Camry changing from 215/55-17 to the 225/50-17 as you suggested, does the tire diameter increase or decrease and by how much. What about for a 225/45-17 setup?

I'm interested in the diameter change because I want my speedometer to track as accurately as possible for MPG mileage reasons.

The 225 50 17 would be 4 tenths of an inch shorter than the 215 55. The 225/45 would be 1.3" short. I would run 225 50.
