2002 Sienna slow leak

We have a tire that is losing about 2-3 pounds per day - no visible damage to either the tire or stock allow wheel. Had the tire remounted 3 times, and cleaned the wheel down to bare metal (can sanding the wheel with 180 grit sandpaper damage it?). No bubbles when put in a tub.

Could it be a bad tire or damaged wheel (both look in good condition)? Would it be OK to replace the two front wheels with steel wheels if it is a bad wheel - right now I plan to buy a new tire and see if it leaks on that wheel also.

Thanks for any advice.

Have you tried checking the tire stem valve to see if it's tight or leaking? Spray some soapy water in the valve and around the stem and see if you have any bubbles.

If no leaks appear to be visible, you could dismount and swap one of the other tires with this wheel. It is more work, but may allow you to determine if it is the wheel or tire before you start replacing either of the two.
