Question for wheel & Tire experts: Better to run 15" or 17" in the winter???

I have two sets of wheels, the stock 15" steelies and aluminum 17" for my 03 Camry. It's getting close to time to buy winter tires, and I'm not sure whether to buy a set of 205 -65- 15 or 225 -50- 17. Which size tire will give better grip and handling in snow/ice? assuming they are the same make/model of winter tire.

We would recommend using the standard 15" for the best in winter performance and keeping your 17" wheels for the rest of the year. The narrower tire will track better in the snow than your wider lower profile summer tires. Send me a message if I can help.

your rim/ tire size isn't gonna affect anything.... the tire type / tread and width will...

but i'd save your aluminums from the harsh cold winter and buy winter treads and put them on the junkyard rims...
