Motto Metal 955 16x8 or 17x9 on 06 Tacoma

I keep reading about potential rubbing on new wheels. Will Motto Metal 955's rub on a 06 Tacoma Dbl Cab 4x4 with a 3" lift? Looking to have 285/75/Rxx's. They have the standard 4.5 backspace so its come down to wheel size...

Should I go with 16's or 17's?

Thanks

Hey Pine...I'm in the same situation as you. My 07 Taco came with the 265/65/R17 Bridgestone Dueler H/T but I'm wanting to replace them with BFG 285/70/17's or 285/75/16's. I have to buy new rims to make this work (i think) and I was wondering about the fender rubbing too. I have found a set of Dick Cepak rims that have a 4" backspace that will move the tires out a little to clear the suspension but I am wondering if I should go with the 16s or 17s.

Anyone wanna help us out and lend their $0.02?
