Comments on tire rotation strategy

I want to swap my full size spare tire for one of the tires on the Camry.

Then keep doing that every 5K miles I suppose, picking a new tire every time. The spare goes onto the vehicle in a new place (every time) and that tire that just came off the 'yota becomes the new spare.

I think the advantage of this is:

1) All tires will be evenly warn. So that when it's time to replace them, they should all be bald evenly, theoretically, you can by 5 tires of the same brand.

2) As I don't have access to a lift or any professional equipment other a pair of hydrolic jacks, it's difficult for me to take off 2 tires at once. Doing just one tire is much easier.

I wasn't clear if you were rotating all at once or just one tire at a time. If you aren't rotating all of the tires at once the others will be in the same position too long. It would be ok to rotate five tires but you should follow guidelines at link below:
