looking for best summer tires for fuel economy and treadwear.

Well I guess the title sums it up. I need to get some summer tires for my '99 Accord, and the size is 215/55/16. Not interested in all seasons since I have snow tires on rims already.
Basically I need something that gives good fuel economy and lasts a long time. Thanks

For treadwear I'd say a nice set of Michelins (sp). My dad had some and got like 70,000 miles on them, not bad at all. May be a little pricey for the real high treadwear rating, but might be worth it in the end.

The summer compounds will offer the best wet and dry traction......but will wear the fastest. The all seasons will trade off some extreme wet/dry grip but in turn offer the longer life. May want to search by size at following: Tires Let me know if I can help.

Thanks Kyle; I was looking at the Fuzion ZRi as a possibility. What is your overall opinion of them? They seem to get favorable reviews.

Dave

Edit: the size is actually 205/55/16.

The ZRI offers a nice level of wet and dry performance at a reasonable price. The following link will show tests we have run in the past comparing to other UHP summer tires. ZRI test You'll also be able to view customer feedback from the site.
