gen 7 bolt size or lug nut problem?

Hi there,

I m new to this site, hope you guys can help me out here

I was thinking of getting a set of used winter tires with alloy wheel off my friend's 2004 mazda RX8 (RWD) for my 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid (FWD).

I was able to put the wheel on but I wasnt able to put the Toyota OEM lug nut on the stud of the aftermarket rim that came off from the RX8. My question is that do i simple buy a new set of lug nuts that fit the studs or there are other implications?

Second question, 2004 RX8 has 5X114.3 same as my camry, but I dont know if the offset of the aftermarket rim fits my car which has 45+ i think.

my stock tire size is 215/60/16, the aftermarket set is 215/55/17, it should be ok right?

THanks so much for your help/advice!!

The offset would be ok as long as you aren't hitting the strut. The 215 55 17 would be ok to use on the Hybrid. You'll also need to find hub rings for the center bore and confirm that the lugs seat properly into the wheel. Make sure you get at least 6.5 turns on the lugs when installing. Studs should be the same thread so it's likely the style of lug that is the problem.

i think i can manage to have 6.5-7 turns when installing, so i guess it is fine

and for the air pressure, toyota recommends 32 rear and front for 215/60/16, now with 215/55/17, what is the recommended air pressure for my tires?

Thanks

Run the 17" at 35 psi....that will carry same load capacity as the 16" at 32psi from the factory.
