Tire Decision 195/55/15

I want to buy a new set before going back to school (200miles away).

I'm stuck between these two tires (getting them in 195/55/15) -

1. Yokohama S.Drive (Ultra High Performance Summer)
2. Kumho Ecsta ASX (Ultra High Performance All-Season) - What I have now.

Just some notes,
- they are the same price at $68 per tire
- no complains with my experience of the kumho ecsta asx's except maybe road noise which i dont think will improve if i go with the yokohama's
- i have winter tires

Input, please!

I was originally looking at the General Altimax HP's and the Flaken Ziex ZE 912 for my wife's Celica (195/60/15). I ended buying the Falken Ziex ZE 912 from Discount tire because they have more locations in our area in case of emergency. Also, they are the only tire company that I have witnessed using torque wrenches for installation.

They do not have your exact size, but these should be an alternate size for your application 185/60HR15.

Hmm, dunno if i wanna risk that size but thanks though. I think those tires have very high ratings on tirerack. How are your falken tires? I hear the 512s aren't that great so I'm curious if the new version is better.

The Celica feel solid with the 912's. Handling is great on dry pavement and in the rain (it rains hard here). Road noise is almost non-existent, but this is comparing it to the worn Fulda Carats that were on the car (down to the wear bars). I won't be able to tell you how these will handle in the snow, since I'm in Florida. Hope that helps!

Eric.

The 185/60-15 would only be 1.27% difference from your original size.

I just got S Drives. 205/50/15 amazing tires. Comfortable on the road and grip when pushed.

if you have winters, then it would make more sense to get dedicated summer tires

I already bought the S. Drives. I received it the following day after ordering. As a matter of fact, it's mounted

So.. what do you think compared to the ASXs? I was thinking ASXs for better treadwear...
