KYB GR2 questions

Ok so first of all I have been running kyb gr2's on my camry for the past two years. First thing that still bothers me to this day is: Do all gr2's come painted silver or do they come in black also? My rears are silver, my fronts are black.
Second, after two years, the fronts are junk. I can raise the front end off the ground, and pull up on the tire and compress the struts, blown already, whatta crock.
Third, can i install the cartridges from tokico hp? Hopefully so, if that is possible, please let me know. Thanks.

I can't remember where I got em, but it seems like a few other gen 3's have black fronts and silver rears. No fluid that I can see, the gas may have leaked out though. They are junk thats for sure. Tokico HP's in the works

KYB GR2 Shocks

MyFree,

We carry them and haven't heard your issue with them. But it also depends on your driving style, common road surface and how many miles you have on them.

Driving style is just daily commute, flat roads, some bumps but not many. i think there is 20K on them with ksport springs.

Myself, and I am qualified and experienced to do so. I have an associates degree in automotive technology, and also have worked in independents shops and performance shops for the past 8 years.

Understood, that's a very unfortunate situation you have there and unique. I hope nothing but the best of luck to you with your shock search, hope you get satisfaction next time!

On a side note, that's interesting my brother has very similar credentials.

Wow...makes me glad I ordered the Tokico blues for my Avy. They were $80 more for the set of 4.

Main reason I went with them over the KYB was the performance. They are supposed to be a bit firmer. Also picked up some Vogtland lowering springs. Hoping for a big ride improvement over the floaty way it handles now.
