My 99' Solara SLE has stock 16" wheels with 205*60*16 tires. Going to put 17"*7 rims with 215*50*17 tires and like to know what offset should I look for. Or could go up to a 225*50*17 tire and not have any problems?

Both the 215/50-17 and 225/50-17 will work on your vehicle with factory suspension assuming that the width and offset on the wheels you purchase are correct. Did you have a wheel already picked out? If so, what are the dimensions?
