Speed Rating
I went in to a shop to get new tires put on. I know that my 96 Camry requires 195/70 R14. What I didn't know is that there is another number, the 90T number. 90 means weight from what I understand, and the "T" is the speed rating.
The shop manager refused to put on tires because they only had 90T tires (Rated for 118mph). The 90H are rated for 130mph. So technically my car requires 90H tires because it's a "Camry Sport"? I'm never going to drive above 90 miles an hour anyway. I don't think a 4 cylinder camry can ever even push past 112mph.
Am I wrong in saying that I'm perfectly safe putting on the 90H tires instead of paying more for the 90T tires?
