3rd Generation 245 with spacers?

Hey DT.

I have a 96 Camry 4cyl Coupe
I bought 4 G35 Sedan Wheels for $200 the specs for the wheels and tires are 225/55/17 5x114.3 66.06 hub bore 45mm offset 17x7

Edit: The current tires are 225/55/17

I put them on and they were rubbing the struts like crazy......Do you think with a 20mm hub spacer and 60.1 to 66.06 hub ring, will fit how I need them to fit w/o any problems?

Edit: I plan on running 225/40/17 for tire height

Also would I have to roll my fenders? Would there be a problem with a 2inch drop?

Thanks

Thank you for the post.

We do not recommend the use of spacers. If a wheel does not fit without the use of spacers/adaptors, it shouldn't be on the vehicle. However, according to my information the +45mm offset is the highest recommended offset on your 96 Camry for a 7" wide wheel. That said, if you switch to tire size 215/45-17, you should not have any tire rub even with the 2" drop.

As far as the hub rings go, I am unaware of any manufacturer's who produce hub rings in size 66.1 to 60.1. The closest available is size 67 to 60.1. To be exact, you'll need to have a set custom made.

I hope this information helps. If we can be of further assistance please let us know.

-Matt

3rd Generation

It might. I went from a 225/45/17 tire to a 215/45/17. It looked like the fenders would have had to been rolled with the larger tires, so that extra .5 inch may make a differance when it gets dropped.

So how would I compensate for the extra .5?

Rolling the fenders may work. Not sure. Im sure if you search you can find someone who has the same rim mod on here.

That should work as well according to my information. With the 215/45-17's mounted on a 7.5" wide wheel +45mm offset, the package will only stick out about 1/2" (.4") further out from where the OE assembly sits.
