Question Tire Poll -Opinion needed

Do you think the Dunlop tires are worth the extra $370+?
I am leaning more towards the Kumho because in addition to the highlighted differences, the warranty review is better and it has a higher speed rating (i could never hit those speeds but still, Why TF not?).

These tires is going on a turbo'd DD car weighting 2900Lbs

I've run Kumho Ecasta SPT in the past, and I know of others here that have too. No complaints!

Smooth ride, good wet and dry handling...maybe a little louder that other tires I've owned, but not awful.

So my answer is....No I don't think the Dunlops are worth the extra bucks.

Dunlops suck ass. IMO they have very soft rubber and will wear pretty fast even with no alignment or balancing issues and even if you rotate them every 6K miles. Definitely not worth the extra $$$.

I agree with Allen. I had Dunlops once....once being the operative word, and never had them again.

Then you want grip. The Z1 star specs are EXCELLENT in that department. IMO, for the money, they are the BEST tire you can buy. They might not have the best treadwear rating, but their dry grip alone is worth the purchase.

Some models might suck, but the Z1's do NOT.

I've had AST, ASX, and SPT Kumhos, and they are great for the money, but they don't come close to the Z1's when it comes to grip.

I have been running the SPT for years now. Now that i am boosted i am finding that i am finding that the tires are at their limits. this is why i am thinking about stepping up. i am not a fan of the AST

I do have a 2nd set of track wheel (Rotas wrapped with Kumho XS) so i could sacrifice the spirited daily driving and occasion let loose on the track. but really who want to have to do that?

The Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110 was brought to my attention and i think i am going to go with those. They are not as top notch as the Dunlop but they beat the Kumho in every category and the guys are Discount tire say they can give them to me for the same price as the Kumho.. win win
