Tire stuck - is this a special lug nut? (see photos)

Hi all,

I tried taking off the fron ttires of my 2003 matrix this morning to change the brake pads and ran into a problem - the tires won't come off! I removed the 5 standard lug nuts but there seems to be something holding the tire on in the center (or else it's just rusty and I need to throw some force into it).

Can anyone please tell me if this is a special nut that I need a special tool for (nothing came with the car)

Make sure your car is secure and kick the tire near the tread. It's just stuck. (Or I'm a complete idiot- not that I can't be a complete idiot AND the tire is stuck.)

Looks like its just stuck. If you live near a Discount Tire or America's tire take it in and have a rotation done. They will break them loose for you and inspect them for you as well.
