Full System for 1500

A buddy of mine who is much more into music then I am just got a nice 4.5 camry. He wants me to help him work up a system. He has 1500$ and needs everything in that. So HU, front components, 2 10s and 2 amps. Also wiring and a roll mabye 1/2 of RAAMatt. Hes thinking Alpine for the deck, but hes open to suggestions. He also wants everything of a reputable website aka crutch or cdomain.
Have at it
btw self install

I'd stay away from Alpine headunit's myself, unless he know's someone that works at BestBuy and can get him employee pricing on a 9853/9855. I hear the BestBuy employee price on a 9855 is 250 bucks. But even then I'd probably opt for something else LOL.

If he doesn't mind not having MP3 Playback or a detachable face I can get a new Eclipse CD8053 for a little over 300 bucks from a very reliable source.

Then there's always the Pioneer DEH-P860MP on ebay(cringe ) for about 300.

For amps, I'd have to say the MB Quart RA2400 from Crutchfield. 2 of them. They are 229 shipped, when you use a Crutchfield Coupon.

Run the first one to a set of passive components, then bridge the other one. They do 200 watts rms x 2 and 800 watts rms x 1 when bridged.

For subs, the TC Sounds TC2+ 10" DVC Subs are 99 bucks each at www.oaudio.com

That leaves about 500 bux for front component speakers, raammat, wiring and miscelaneous stuff.

For speakers Marv has the adapter bracket for the gen4/4.5 camry so you can get a set from him. That should give you probably a 2.75" Mounting depth I'm guessing.

What kind of music does he like mostly? Does he want a very detailed set that will reveal everything, or does he want something more mellow and laidback?

I would definelty get a decent/nice HU for sure (pioneer/alpine)|. Raamatt is a great choice to have on your list.

There is many deals on ebay you can find. Maybe you can use a 5-Channel Amp to run the whole system. Camxrunner will be posting shortly with alot of info/links

Haha. My bad. Anyways....

Premier 860MP is a great choice. I got to play with it at a local shop. Easy to use, alot of features and very nice at night.

What kind of music does he listen to?

How many space does he want to spare?

he has to have detach face. Parks outside. He listens to all sorts, rap and reggae mainly but rock comes in with floyd and crew. He is a DJ so he wants a direct very revealing system.

I'd go with the Pioneer over the Alpine. The Eclipse is out of the ?. If he must go with an Alpine, look for a '04 model 9833 or 9835.

For components the MB Quart QSD's are really good. People say they are harsh, but that's because they aren't installing/tuning them correctly.

Also check out Focal K2P components.

If he doesn't want to spend that much $ on the speakers, I always rec. checking out the Alpine Type-X components and the JL XR components.

Also the Oz Audio Matrix Elite components(email csuflyboy from ECA)

Spend some time searching ECA before you drop the $ and I'd rec. keeping an eye on the for sale section there.

Yup!

I went to a local shop that deals Eclipse. Nice decks! Even their speakers, i was pretty stunned.

JL XR would be a nice comp set, i use to use those. I agree with Camx., that you should do alot of researching before emptying your pockets and keep an eye out on the FS section.
