Im sure this isn't a new thread topic but if it is cool if not i apologize lol. I wanna know what your very first system was including amp kits etc.and who installed it. I guess ill start off. 2 10's sony xplod's and a sony xplod 1200(more like 100) watt amp. Got it from best buy and they told me this setup would get very loud because i matched the watts on the subs and amp lol. Paid 175 for a prefab box, 125 for each sub, 190 for the amp, 85 for the amp kit! Yes 85! and 50 for installation. Total came out to be nearly 700 bucks. Did i get ripped off or what?
Eclipse CD8454 head unit
JBL GTO 755.6 amp
KnuKonceptz 4 Gauge amp kit and a few other wires from them
Polk db6750, 6.75 component set
ID 10 v3 dual 2 ohm subwoofer
Self built enclosure from 5/8" MDF - looks like crap, but it works
Polk EX369 6x9 3 ways not used
Total is around $1000 including the 6x9s that I don't use right now
I installed everything myself

well the first system that ive had is the one i got in the camry right now but when my dad had the car he had 2 kicker impulse amps( i have no clue what models) he had 1 of the amp running kicker impulsive components up front and kicker 6 x 9 speakers in the back( no clue what model) the other amp was pushing 2 12inch kicker comp vr's in a sealed box. it sounded real nice from what i remember
I'm willing to bet a good majority of the people out there spend more money on their first system than what it's worth, but it really is a learning experience.
I don't think I'd be writing this today if I didn't sell half my system before this past summer and have the other half stolen.
Panasonic headunit
JL 12W5
Lanzar DCT 4.1 (4" mids and 1" silk dome tweets)
Lanzar Opti Drive Plus 100Q (still have, but power supply section is shot)
No rear speakers.
From there I upgraded to:
2 PPI A200 (art series)
Oz Audio 5 1/4" mids
AudioControl EQX
AudioControl ESP2
AudioControl Overdrive
AudioControl Epicenter (sold it later on)
Got rid of the PPI amps and currently have 2 Linear Power amps.
