install XM antenna on a 1999 4Runner

I installed the unit itself no problem in about 45 minutes....now i just need to run the antenna.

where is the best place for it?

on the back.....above the rear window? or in the front above the front window.

and suggestions as to where to run the wire?

Reception wise, it doesn't matter. But for ease of installation, I'd say on the back above the rear window. That way you can just run the wire out of the headliner or rear pillar panel, then out the back.

^^ yep on the rear window is easier. i placed my TV Antenna on my rear window & another on the front window. it was very easy to do it.

so just shove the wire in the crack....or actually take paneling off?
i've never installed one of these so help out a newbie!

If you can take the paneling off easily, that might be best, then maybe tape it down so it doesnt come out, or make any noise (if possible).

But if shoving it under the panel works, do what you feel works.

id say shove it to start, and then if it causes problems go back and attach it much better

i installed it underneith the rubber seal for the rear "hatch", and then i removed the interior paneling (well, not removed, but unclipped enough to pull out the bottom), then i just ran it across the side of the vehicle like i would a sub amp wire
