Pioneer AVI-CD1 opinions?

Circuit City has this navi unit for about $1200 with rebate. Seems like a decent price, but I dont have much knowledge about it.

i think u can do a lot better for 1200 bucks.. (more like 1500 for the first 6-8 weeks) esp considering its only a double din cd player, not even dvd player. for that money, i would look into one of the new eclipse AVN units(dvd and nav). you can find one new on ebay for ~1200..

if u are looking at the double dins, u can check out the kenwood ddx 8017.. some ppl might frown upon kenwood but i think it seems like a decent product. u can add on the nav unit to this unit..i like this b/c you have a dedicated nav player and dvd player so u dont have to keep handling the nav discs everytime you wanna watch a dvd(nav discs are fairly expensive!)

any other questions, u can just PM me or respond.. ive done a lil bit of hw on this subject

Thanks for the info. I didnt realize the Pioneer unit didnt play DVD's, so that pretty much rules it out for me. The AVN5435 was my first choice, it's just the price thats holding me back. I hesitate to buy it from ebay since you get no warranty coverage unless buying from an authorized dealer.

I have hookups on Eclipse with warranty. Gotta keep it on the DL though, meaning you can't post the source in public
