Final Going Active Questions

I'm making this thread for my final going active questions.

1. I've heard alot that tweeters are 8 ohms. I cant find much information regarding my own tweeters. Does it matter what ohm they are?

2. Am I Going to need a relay to run 4 components on one turn on line.

3. Do I play around with the gains aswell? To adjust the stregnth balance?

4. The Low pass filter for my sub should be around 250. unfortunalty i dont have a resistor for this, so what im planning on doing is running it at 2600 in the xover and then running the sub on the LPF to its current settings? Is this ok?

There will be more to come.
Thanks

No doesn't matter.

I don't think so, just run two turn on lines from the back of the CD player, that's what I'm going to do anyways.

Start with the gains at minimum, and also turn the volume all the way down before you set the crossover points.

The low pas filter for your sub should be between 63-80hz. 100 hz tops. Do you have a sub crossover on the headunit if you don't have that crossover point in the Audiocontrol?

Basic Settings

Tweeter HPF 3KHZ
Mid HPF63hz or 80 hz
Mid LPF 2.15khz to 3khz
Sub LPF 63-80hz

250 is way too high, 100hz tops imo.

I'm going to cross mine over at around 63 hz.

I was uninstalling the mids the other day when I drove a screw thru the surround & dustcap--ouch,so I decided to try these inexpensive drivers.

Don't matter now that you have a capable crossover.

Try them both out and see which one you think makes the overall system sound better.

They both rated for the same power right?

If not, use the stronger one on the mids.

they are both rated for the same, or the mtx is like 5 more rms. The Monitor is the better one, so ill try it out on the tweets before, cause it has no turn on pop, which ive heard can damage them
