My new "Toy"

Ok, now it's getting REALLY bad!

Just when you thought I was gonna get the P1R(well I am still getting it, it'll be here tomorrow) I go and buy this thing.

It's a nice basic CD player

now didnt you just get through saying that nothing can touch the pioneer's tuning capability?

you are going from a 31 band eq to a 5 band?

what am i missing, it sounded like the pioneer had more tweekablity

Yeah, not to mention the Pioneer looked sexy. That thing looks like something dragged from outta the junk yard, and at $1400 it better be pretty

I wasn't getting the DEX-P9/DEQ0P9 Combo, I'm getting the older P1R which has 3 way crossovers and a 13 band graphic eq. The eclipse has a better eq than the P1R, but to be honest with you, I didn't really need to use any eq in my install, save for 2 clicks down at 63hz to calm down the midbass.

The major difference between the P1R and the Clarion DRZ9255 is that the Clarion has a 4 way crossover, where the P1R has a 3 way. The Clarion will allow me to run a complete active setup using a Tweeter, Midrange, Midbass, and Sub. The eq is a 5 band Paramatric for both left and right sides IIRC, which is just enough for me.

If you want to read some technical jargon about this masterpiece read here.

It really is one of the best CD players you can buy, it shares alot of componentry with the McIntosh MX406.

You sir have no taste. This headunit it Beautiful. But I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

The real beauty lies in what it can do.

I dont like it because I for one I like to have my Disc Tray/Drive/Whatever the Hell you call it hidden, not sticking out. The display seems very lack luster, and the buttons are to clustered. Not my kind of HU, but if you like it, you shouldn't care about how I think it looks.

I totally agree with you. Do you recommend Clarions HU that is one step down from yours? its 899, I forget the model though

*EDIT* It's the DXZ955MC

I was just messing with you, I agree this type of headunit isn't for everybody, hell I might not like it after using it. With the CD thing you mentioned, I actually like it that way Everybody's different.

It's a good headunit if you don't plan on wiring active.
