bi-amping a sub

is it possible to hook up two amps to power one sub??
the two amps are different power and make....

Nope you wont be able to do that, especially when the amps are different power.

Do NOT use two separate amps, whether same or different, to run each of the voicecoil of of the sub. You will create stress on each voicecoil by fighting against each other, probably destroying them in the process.

Yea 2 diff amps wont work...there are a few amps out there that can do that in pairs. DEI1100D is one I can think of off the top of my head. Most amps that can be bridged like that are high end competition amps.

i have a question

im not too familiar with the dual voicecoil solobarics...

but my friend has a Kicker Solobaric 15L5 and he said hed put it in a box and trade me for my 2 JL Audio 12W1's in my bandpass box... the thing is... well my 2 subs are bridged over 2 channels on my 75x4watt amp... so thats 75 to each of my 12s... my REAL question is tho, could i get the 15 and since it has the dual voicecoil.. could i bridge one over 2 channels of my amp, and the other over the other two channels? that way id be puttin 300 watts to the 15 instead of my 150 to my 12s? what do yall think would be better? my 12s (which are fairly old) or the brand new 15L5 (one)?

No, you can't do that to the Kicker DVC, as the same effects will occur with signals fighting each voicecoil, which may result in damage. For any single DVC, you need to wire it up either parallel-parallel or series-parallel first, then run it to a single channel of an amp.
