4th Generation Running power wires in 4th Gen Camry

Hey! I have a question. I have a sub and amp ready to install, but i can't find a place to run the wires to the trunk. Do I have to drill in to firewall? Or maybe there is a hole somewhere?
And how is the camrys trunk dealing with base? Does it rattle alot?

search friend, many many posts on running wire to from engine to trunk..and gen 3 to 4 is basically the same...so you can use the info from the gen 3s.

and also hit up the audio section's stickys...lots of great info there.

basic choices are the wiring hole on the passenger side right beside the wiper motor or the dirvers fender hole....

search~~!! you'll get pictures!!

rattleing, haven't heard too many complaints...but if it starts to, you can always go at it with dynamat or equivalent and just hit up the places that are prone to rattle if you don't want to do the whole thing

If i remember right.. i believe i drilled a whole somewhat directly behind the airbox straight back to the firewall.. there should be a fairly large opening slightly left and straight back of the air box itself. Then you can run the wiring under the plastic door part all the way back to the back seat where you will probably need to fold down the seats and take off the top carpet stuff to expose the speaker. Then you should be able to run it straight through to the trunk from there

There should be a rubber grommet near the brake master cylinder on the firewall. You might have to cut a small slit with a razor, and run the power wire through that grommet, but not right next to all the other wires.

Don't forget your inline fuse near the battery.

Take the front driver side wheel off and remove the plastic liner. You should find a rubber thing with wires already running through it. Those wires go up hole in the wheel well into the under-hood area.

There should be an extra rubber nipple looking thing that's not used. Take a pair of flush cuts and cut part of that nipple off and you will have a hole to run the wire. If you look on the driver side wheel well from under the hood, you will see some wires going down into the wheel well. It's close to that hole.
