new subs and amp

im looking into buying ed NINe.2X amp and and 2 ed 12" Ov.2 subs to compliment my system i have now. I lsiten to all types of music so i wand the deep loud bass for rap and hard hitting bass for rock, right now i have 2 6.5" alpine s-type in the door and 2 6x9 s-type in the rear deck all four hooked up to a 40 watt rms amp. Do these subs sound like a good idea or should i go with one 12 or 2 10"s. From what ive heard from subs i didnt like 10"s that much just becuase i didnt feel like they really got down to the low frequencies as well as 12"s do but would 2 12"s be over doing it. What do you think

Those are awesome subs, and the nine2X is a very strong class AB amp. I'd go with the 2 12's myself, in a sealed enclosure.

For an alternative amp choice, check out the MB Quart RA2400 @ Crutchfield. Does 800 watts rms x 1 @ 4 ohms. 249 shipped.

For two subs so that your amp will see a final 4 ohm load, you will want to use two dual 4 ohm DVC subs. Then wire them like the picture above shows. (you can also use two single Voice Coil 8 ohm subs, but those aren't too common anymore)

Here's a link to play with different ohm variations to see what works.

ok so do i just cut one peice for the deck and completly cover over the rear speakers like stick it to the bottum of the magnets on the 6x9's so when you look up at the rear deck all you see is the sheet, and likewise with the lid just cover the entire thing with one piece

Take out the rear 6x9's. You won't need them after you have a nicely setup front component system. Also by having those speakers back there the subs are going to cause them to distort and sound even more crappier. Also when you take out those rear speakers you are allowing more bass to get into the cabin.

For deadening the rear deck you will want to use a bunch of pieces of mat, not just one big sheet. That will cause wrinkles and you won't really be doing a good job of effectively deadening. Instead use 2-3 layers of smaller peices.

The way I would deaden the rear deck is about 2 layers on the top of the deck, then one lyer on the bottom. Then use some foam inbetween the deck and the deck panel. This will halp diffuse any rattles between the rear deck and the deckpanel.

www.sounddeadenershowdown.com See which deadener is best for your budget.

I chose and reccomend www.raamaudio.com He also has Ensolite foam which is good stuff for between the deck, and the decklid.

I think Crutchfield might sell baffles that you can mount underneath them.
