Had a Camaro at my shop for a large alternator and while it was there we look at the install. Just had to share this with y'all and see if anybody can get pics of worse jobs. This was done at Best Buy according to the customer.
And the ground for the amp.
That wire is laying in the latch for the hatchback.

fixed this guys system, opened the trunk to discover that he was using a 12g speaker wire as a ground, which was just taped down with duct tape to the floor.

i could NEVER trust my amp just laying around like that - take a aggressive turn - rip out the power wire and it touches shit - haha, guy probably has not heard of fuses - car goes into flames

the best i saw was a cigarette lighter type cord as the power and ground, whenever you plugged the socket in, it would turn on the amp (he had the remote jumped to power)
my niece brought her 05 civic by cause her new stereo system was cutting out. I am not a huge stereo dude - just know enough. But when I saw the install I nearly shit!
The pos and neg were touching and the amp would shut itself off. They used 4 gauge wire in an 8 gauge amp. The wires were to big for the amp and when she hit a bump they would touch together. Don't know how it did not blow the fuse(s).
I did not touch it, told her to take it back and demand a new amp. They gave her a new amp and "shaved" the wires so they would fit ... their (best buy) work is shit!
lol that looks like my friend Adams Camaro... lol he had shit all over in the back and then there was just an amp sitting there and the ground wire wha the same way... lol... i always told him he should get it fixed... then he got rearenden and everthing got shashed and the amp ended up stuck in the windshild on the passanger side... but it was prity funny... just cause he didnt get hurt... i still laugh at him for it
