scratch the dynamat, you can get Raammat way cheaper than dynamat. www.sounddeadenershowdown.com

www.raamaudio.com

The MB Quart QSD216's are VERY nice speakers. But they are not the easiest out of the box to make them sound good. What kind of price did you find on those?

Two MB Quart RAA2400's should cost you 500 shipped. That Alpine headunit and dynamat should cost nowhere near 400.

With that budget, you can afford the DEHP860MP, and a 62.5 sq ft roll of Raammat60.

How much Dynamat(regular or Extreme) were you getting from crutch?

I found the QSD's for 599 shipped, also I found a trunk kit of dynomat regular and extreme for 129.99 shipped. That gave me 12 sq. ft of regular and 8 sq. ft of extreme. What is the DEHP860MP?

That deal on Dynamat is a rip off. That amount of deadener MIGHT be enough for one door, and most of it is crappy regular dynamat.

Trust us on the Raammat. It's as good as Dynamat Extreme and a fraction of the price.

The DEHP860MP is a headunit from Pioneer's Premier lineup.

600 bucks is alot for QSD's.

You can get them for 500 shipped online, or the newer QSC216 set, shich has a newer designed tweeter for 400

I just found out I am getting a free JL Audio 10" sub w/ box for the time being. I will probly get those Seas components but Im not sure what type of 6x9s I should go with. Any suggestions? The list so far is:

1 10" JL Audio subwoofer
1 Alpine CDA-9847 H/U
2 MB Quart Reference RAA2400 amps
1 roll of RAAMmat BXT
Seas Speakers- Lotus Performance Range Components
(I will be installing everything myself)

The Big Three! and OEM wire upgrades and Odyssey battery (Should I get the PC1200MJT?)

What JL sub is it?

One roll of Raammat should be enough to do both your front doors, and the trunk lid.

You should love those Seas Speakers. Especially off 200 watts rms a side

Oh and don't run any rear speakers at all. You won't need them and if you did you're going to have great sound from the front mixing with mediocre sound from 6x9 coaxials running off the headunit (know what I mean?)

Sounds good! Do you think I should get two rolls of RAAMmat? I want to do the sides of my trunk, my two doors, my trunk lid, and maybe some pieces inside of the car?

Im not really sure what type of sub it is. It is my hockey coaches old one from like '96. He has no need for it and I will be taking it off of his hands until I can get my 2 W6's.

I know it is better to do a rear speaker delete but what about people sitting in the back? I just dont understand the whole thing about doing a rear speaker delete.

I cant wait!!!!

Two rolls will be enough for what you want to do. I'd also reccomend the Ensolite foam too for the front doors.

Screw the peple in the back! j/k...

There are a few reasons why it's better not to have rear speakers.

1st. It will in most cases pull your soundstage back. You're tryingto make it sound like the music is coming from on top of your hood. Rear speakers, will pull that back and make it sound like it's coming from inside your head. One might think that's the way to go, and you might prefer that way better, but from a SQ/Audiophile POV it's all wrong.

2nd. The rear speakers can and in most cases will, mess up your imaging. Good imaging occurs when you have the front speakers set up properly so you can get an accurate image of where the sound is supposed to be coming from. In most cases Vocals will be dead center, then you will have different instruments that can fluctuate from left to right. By having rear speakers your left rear speaker is closer to your head than the right rear. This can cause the image to shift to the left. Not so good

3rd. Let's say you have a 2 channel amp for your front components and you are running your rear speakers off the headunit. Fade the CD player all the way to the rear and turn the volume to the max volume you would ever listen to it with the fronts playing. You'll notice alot of distortion coming from the rear speakers. Well when you have your front speakers playing too, you're still getting that distortion, it just blends in together and you realize it less.

Cut out that scenario and you have overall less distortion.

Most people that don't understand why I rec. no rear speakers, even for the back passengers, haven't really heard a good front component system with plenty of power, and properly deadened doors. Most passengers don't like loud music anyways, they'll probably be asking you to turn it down. Those Seas Lotus Performance speakers with 200 watts rms a side will get extremely loud. The people in the rear seat will not mind you not having rear speakers, trust me on that one

Great info, thank you very much for all f the help. For the foam, where would I use it? Also when you say "kill it" do you mean blow the sub? Why would that happen?
