gain control for subs

how many people with subs dont have a remote gain control for them and do you wish you did. Im getting some ed subs and i wasnt sure which amp to get. One is a 2 chan that i could bridge and one $100 more is a mono that will give me about 100 more watts to each sub and comes with a gain control. the 2 chan isnt compatable with a gain control so i cant just buy one for that. I dont really need the extra 100 wattsthe 400-500 per sub is enough for me with the 2 chan but i feel like i would use the remote gain alot cause i listen to all types of music. I want the bass there for rock and really there for rap. For people without one do you find that you can just adjust teh eq on your hu to boost up the bass and thats fine or do you wish you had the contol.

i have a pioneer but it doesnt have sub preouts. It has two sets or preouts front and rear and those are pluged into a 4 channel amp for my speakers and that amp has a sub out rca outs and i believe a lp mp and hp cross over, dont know why a sub out would have a hp but whatever. I was just planning on connecting those preouts to the rca on my sub amp that should be ok right.
