If you're going to do rear fill, I would opt to use the rear deck as opposed to the doors.
In my truck, right now I am listening to just the rear factory speakers(it sucks). I never noticed it with the fronts on but if you fade your speakers all the way to the rear and listen, you'll notice there is a strong presence of the left speaker. I'd have to balance it to the right to get some type of balance. So if you were to have front speakers too and you have the bealance set to 0, like most people do, then you are getting alot of the left rear speaker sound which can mess with your imaging.
By having the rearfill speakers in your deck where they normally are, it is less noticeable, but still throw's stuff out of wack.
IMO just go with a good strong front stage only. The goal for a very good sound quality install is to have the feeling that the band is playing on or in front of your hood, and you can locate where the each person in the band is playing, or where each sound is supposed to originate from.
Rearfill can make this harder to accomplish without the knowledge of how to set it up right. But with a very good tuner/install, rearfill has it's place, but it's easier to get better results without it.
But if you're not too indepth about that stuff, you might enjoy rearfill.
