Kenwood 769 - Free but sorta broken?

Okay well, my friend recently got this.. then it started to act funny. Its a Kenwood KDC X769. So i installed a new one for him and I got this thing for FREE.

Its a nice headunit.. when it worked. Its motorized and all.. but the only problem is the motorized part. It will come out and act like its going to work and then it will fold back in. It will show the display and turn on for 1-2 sec and then fold back in... then fold back out. very entertaining to watch.

Now how would I go about even trying to fix this? Is there somewhere cheap I can send it? There is LITTLE info about this unit and ebay I couldnt find just the unit.

So what do you guys recommend?

Contact Rob (Cam2XRunner) -- he knows a good fix-it-guru.

Fixed my Sony C910 by the way.

Not sure what's wrong with it, but one of my coworkers at Circuit City used to replace the ribbon cables on those all the time. So, that could be the cause of the problem, not sure though.

If you don't want it I will be happy to buy it from you (at a more reasonable price than the one I named previously)
