Tweeters and Midbass

Looking at getting some new stuff

Blew out one of my tweeters and the other one is going, dont think they could take what i was sending them. So im looking for some ideas for some new ones, thinking about mabye going with a metal dome and then switching to some soft domes if i dont like them. I have about 70 watts for them, mabye around 50 shipped? open to all ideas

Midbass- Perhaps thinking about going to a 4 way setup, i have the xover to do it. Can grab a set of the image dynamics mids
http://www.imagedynamicsusa.com/prod...&type=midrange
for about 75 bucks locally. Thoughts on this, id have to make custom kicks, and get another amp prolly. But id like to do this sooner or later, the other option is mabye a set of the ed 700s which look pretty cool, those like 150 watts, where as the ids like 100.

Thoughts?

I'd go 2 way. I have a pair of Phaze Audio Tubedriver mids and the matching aluminum dome tweeters if you want to give those a try. I can sell you those for 125 shipped.

Other than that, I'd rec. the Seas CA18RNX + LPG26NA. But that's gonna be closer to 200 bucks. Well worth it though. I just recieved my set of CA18RNX's.

If you can find some MB Quart 1" Titanium dome tweeters those are the bomb

The MB Quarts you can also get the PCE/PSD components and they have those same tweeters. THe mids are pretty good too. I've seen a few sets under 200 bucks.

I'd use something else then the ID's. The Seas CA18RNX are a perfect match for the LPG's.

My Alpines are still available...

Give it some thought -- it's a complete 3-way setup.

You have plenty of power for them, just hook them up like normally. Make sure you have your crossover settings correct, (HPF @ 3.15khz to 3.5kz. Maybe a little lower)

Also try other settings too.

With my MB Quart tweeters, if I crossed them over at 3.15 or even 3.5khz they were a little harsh. When I crossed them over at 4khz, it was a totally different tweeter, so nice.
