does anyone have a JVC KD-ADV6160 unit installed?

Has anyone installed a JVC KD-ADV6160
stereo/cd/mp3 head unit in your vehicle?

If so, please relate experiences.
the more details, the better.
types of discs (dvd+r, dvd-r, dvd+rw etc) that it can handle
etc.

yep installed it.

Its' not bad for $250 that plays DVDs.

i have 2 Rockford 10s, and hooked up a visor monitor to the HU. Pretty good sound.

Picture quality is good. Sound quality is good. But this thing is not made solely for sound. its more of a Video thing i feel. If you want amazign sound go with Alpine with EQs etc...

Very good connectivity: has the front input and rear input...so can hookup a PS2 to the back...and an Ipod to the front.

It plays DVD+R i think only...it doesn't play DVD -R...or somethign like that....it plays Mp3s, all CDs no problem...

Improvements it could use:
Better screen and OSD on LCD monitors for CD TRACKS.
Better Buttons....next/back button way toooo small.

can it play mp3's/dvd-movies stored on dvd+r and/or dvd+rw
discs?

i was able to play these items on a kd-dv5100 and the 6160 is a similar
model (but with preamp outs and a few other things).

the reason i ask is because i can't find a local dealer that carries a
kd-adv6160 to test.

I noticed these specs when i read the online manual a while back.
The specs **don't** mention DVD+R or DVD+RW specifically.
(maybe that is an accidental omission by JVC?)

I assume you got your info from somewhere else or personal
experience?
