Hey whats up guys ...I was lookin to get an inexpensive sealed box for 2 10" Subs. Are these any good? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1941789781 I just want something tight nothing too expensive what do you think? What should I look for in a box? Thanks for any info!!

I highly doubt that this box has the correct volume for your subs. If you know it does, then go for it.. Otherwise, keep reading...

Each sub has a specific air volume it needs to perform at it's optimum level. You can find this info either at the manuf. site or with literature that came with your subs. I suggest you visit your local audio shop and have them build you a box to teh subs requirements. Simple rectangular sealed boxes are relatively inexpensive.

Some things you should look for are include a partition for each chamber. Other then that, a standard MDF box isn't very involved. Good luck.

Just get the measurements of the box, but using an online sub-box designer and input the required info on the subwoofer(s) to get the correct size box, then go out to the nearest hardware store and get some plywood and make your own box. You'll be 10x more happier after you finish it

Yea I was thinkin of doin that. Ive never done it for subs but it is only a "box" :-? . Should I use any silacone or glue for the seams to keep it tighter than just the screws?

predill the holes you want and glue them with wood glue. use some MDF or is you can find some HDF would be great. MDF is easier to cut.

I've never seen HDF. Does it look anything like MDF? I'm going to guess it's a bitch to carry though; MDF is pretty damn heavy stuff.

hdf is usually found in lumber yard. although i heard some home depot have some.

if you aint good with makin stuff like,... speaker boxes.. hehe, find a friend that can help you, and if you cant do that, go to an audio shop and get one custom made to the specifications... trust me youll be very happy.

ive listened to peoples systems that originally had a POS box, then went and got one custom made, and you can tell the difference. im thinking about doin that for my speakers.

right now i have them in a bandpass box- two jl audio 12w1's... and im dont know if i wanna leave em in the bandpass, or get a custom setup... cuz it already slams hella hard, but i think i could get more out of em.
