Canada 2001 Corolla Rear Speakers

I want to install rear speakers..

Currently my car doesn't have rear speakers nor rear speaker grilles.

I attempted to install speakers underneath the 'carpet' of the rear deck but decided not to since there wasn't enough clearance so that the percussion of the speakers isn't restricted. So I plan on acquiring OEM rear speaker grilles to keep the factory look for some added security.

As I said, "I attempted to install rear speakers," I encountered a problem with removing the rear deck carpeting. I wasn't able to remove the baby seat anchors (I believe that's what they are). Does anyone know how I can do this? - Use an impact gun?

I also plan on getting a set of aftermarket wiring harnesses for my car off of SoundDomain but I'm not sure exactly which one's I need or which one's are better.

One looks female & the other looks male.

So if you guys could point me in the right direction for my project, please do so.. It would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time!

ON my 2000 Camry to remove the anchors, the ones on the rear deck, I removed the plastic cover and then undo them with a 12 or 14mm socket and rachet. That's how I got them out.

For the speaker adapters, the second one says rear speakers only. I guess what you need would depend on your application.

I tried using a socket wrench also but only tried taking it off from the bottom from inside the trunk and it was very difficult. Maybe I should try to do it your way - take off the plastic cover.

I also want to get a pair just in-case I'll upgrade the fronts soon. Which one's are for the front?
I'm guessing the 1st one.. Right?

You don't really need them. Usually when you buy a pair of speakers, you get some speaker wire in the box too. You can get some crimp quick disconnects and crimp them on to the included wire and use that.

Yah, I'll most likely do that.

Next question:

- What size speakers fit the best without any major modifications?
IE. Fabricating MDF brackets.

SoundDomain says 7 for the front & 6x9 for the rear. Is that true?

7" for the front, you probably can fit 6-1/2 or 6-3/4 components in there or coaxials. Coaxials are easier to install, but components sound better.

If you plan to add a sub, leave out the 6x9s and get a good amp and sub instead.

I already put in a system for all the lows. The factory fronts are pretty good, but I'm just curious right now.. I was asking because I acquired a pair of Pioneer 6.5 inch speakers from a buddy and plan on using them for fillers. That's why I asked.
