Lightbulb any interest in a car-pc kinda product?

hey guys,

would anyone be interested in a system which would provide you with audio playback/storage, dvd/video playback, navigation, wi-fi, and even OBDII support to display real-time data from the ECU such as RPM, trouble codes, etc. ??

You can interface to it via 7" touchscreen and voice command. Some cool features would be things like automatically synchronizing audio files from ur home PC to ur car PC, via wireless, making use of RSS feeds in your car when it hits a wifi spot, shift-light based on optimum RPM u input, etc.

In a sense, this is an car computer... but I'ev been working on this project and have been a car enthusiast ever since I discovered the interenet! I figured, I'd apply my two most fav. hobbies together ... cars and comps. I've also been able to work in the industry which gave me the opportunity to develop the hardware and now software (in the works).

I would just like to know if there's any interest out there for something like this ... I have yet to drop major $$ into development and would appreeciate any feedbacks or possible feature wishlists that I can add. I'll have something to show u guys in the next couple of weeks we'll see ... there's hundreds of hours of coding ahead of us !

oh and of course, price ... this would be anywhere between 900-1500 based on features. But I've done my hw and with all-in-one unit like this, it would still be way under what's offerd there right now.

if you can include all those features, as well as keep it within that price range given, I would be

but just a thought as well though- if you can tap the ecu and get all the pertinent readings, then maybe you can also include hardware that can be used like a piggyback/safc - just a thought

i don't kno what a regular carputer is, but it would offer u exactly what i described.

the interface would a single-din flipout, and hardware would be mounted anywhere in the car like an amp.

for more of the car-computer enthusiast, i'll probably just sell the hardware for much cheaper (without our interface & licenses ... in a sense, a carputer ready for software installs).
