best sub for dollar...

i know the title sounds wierd but its not what it is..

what sub has the best bang for the buck??? im looking to get rid of my old setup, and getting a better one... im budgeting around 1k for amp, 6x9's, 2 subs and hopefully a set of components in front

right now i have rockford component 6.5 (no amp pushing them) pioneer 4way 6x9's and 2 audiobahn aw1251t's and a generic amp

1st of all, I'd ditch the 6x9s. They're absolutely worthless. Period.

With that in mind, the simplest way to upgrade your system is to probably get a powerful 4 channel amp such as the MB Quart QAA4250. That does 250x4 @ 4 ohm/12V.

That way you can throw 250 watts to each of your components and 500 bridged to your sub. The amp will run you about $450 shipped with headroom to boot.

Alpine Type-X or similar components can be had for $250 and under. So that leaves you about $300 for a sub or two.

Hell, you might be able to pick up a JL 12W7 for $300 if you stumble across the right deal. Just be sure to scour forums and eBay for people desparate to sell their stuff and jump on it.

I'm pretty sure none of the QAA amps are bridgeable.

The RAA4200 would be a very nice choice, and cheap too(under 200). 100 watts to the front components and 400 watts rms to the sub.

I'd also rec. the Alpine Type-X or JL XR components for a mainstream component choice under 200 bucks.

For a sub that works well off 400 watts RMS, I'd go with the Arc 12D2 or the IDQ15D2.

That setup right there is a little over 600 bucks and will kick ass.

I stand corrected. The QAA4250's rear channels are bridgeable.

Nice amp

I think the best subs for the money is Image Dynamics. They are excellent subs. Thanks to Cam, I will be using those from now own. I have moved on from JL Audio.

I also believe Alpine Type-R subs are great for the price too. 1 - 12 inch sub is about $125 and they knock MAD HARD.
